Wiretech NewsWiretech has been a staple of the Wisconsin community for over 7 decades. We started out as an Economy lantern company in the 1940’s producing handheld lanterns for the government. In 1963 we transformed into Dorco Manufacturing and produced items such as casserole dish stands and candelabras from wire material. The demand and knowledge we had for wired material let us to branch out into the commercial producer of wired material we are today!
WireTech makes products for industries from lawn and garden to office furniture and anything in between! With many years of working with wired material, our knowledge and capabilities have increased tenfold! Here are the capabilities we currently offer:
Large Frames – Large frames are a testament to all our wire forming capabilities in one. We use robotic welding and other robots for handling the frames resulting in a cost-effective process.
Bending - We use CNC bending for almost all of our bending purposes as it is both accurate and efficient. We still do some pneumatic bending to round out our services and for special purposes.
Chamfering – This includes our straightening process and other equipment that creates flexibility in our production design. Chamfers offer the advantage of an angled leading edge, and it helps to break the sharp edge that gets left behind by normal wire cutting operations. This is normally done in 30 or 45 degree angles but we can do others if specified.
Press Forming – We produce swages to create flats as well as pierced holes with our press-forming processes. These holes are usually round, but we can make almost any other shape if specified.
Drilling - Drilling is a very common way of creating attachments points. We can do standard high speed tight tolerance production drills to any custom-made drill tables.
Cold Forming - With cold forming we can produce both heads and collars. This process is very accurate and flexible making it one of our client's favorites!
Threading – We use roll threading as it is the most efficient and cost-effective method. This is a staple in the wire forming community. We can even reduce the wire diameter before threading to incorporate smaller threads!
Robotic Welding – Our robotic welding employs MIG welding which provides the material enhanced strength and consistency throughout the product. This welding gives the product a superior finish and is recommended for all wire forming applications.
Finishing- We use many different painting processes for a corrosion resistant and aesthetic finish. This can be anything from state-of-the-art powder coating to a dipping process.
With almost all of our wiring processes we can handle wire diameters from .125” to .625” cold drawn steel. We have many amazing capabilities and can work with you to get the best product possible. Contact WireTech Fabricators for all your wire forming needs!
