Threading
Providing threaded wire components is a staple capability in the industries that we serve. We employ roll threading processes which are the most cost-effective method when adding this feature. If required we can also reduce the wire diameter prior to threading to incorporate threads smaller than the wire diameter.
Roll Threading
By rolling a wire rod between two dies and forcing the material to flow away from the diameter of the wire rod the major diameter of a thread is produced.
-The maximum length of a threaded rod is 39.5”
-The maximum thread length is 4.00”
-Roll threading is the most cost effective method to produce threads
-We can also roll thread on an extruded end and eliminate the need for a roll thread stock blank diameter. This option is not as cost effective as using a rolled thread stock diameter rod (See page 3 for rolled thread blank diameter sizes)
-Chamfers are not required for roll threading
